Fun Times with Family

My sisters (Holly & Danielle) and my neice (Payton) came in for Reese's baby shower last week. We all had a great time. Reagan loved having Payton around. She was a captive audience for all of her wild antics. I think Payton enjoyed it just as much as Reagan did. So, needless to say, I have tons of great pictures. I will try not to go too crazy, but beware that I'm posting a lot of them.

Playing at Chick-Fil-A - This was the first time Reagan actually climbed all the way up. Thanks, DeeDee & Holly! She loved driving the cars up there and waving at Mommy.

Reese's Baby Shower

Some of my sweet, sweet friends had a baby shower for us this weekend. They opened the time in prayer for little Reese, our family, and her delivery. It was wonderful! We got so many great gifts - from practical (diapers & nursing pads) to homemade works of art (a quilt and afghan). Thanks to everyone. We love you all!!

Remembering Reagan's First Moments

With little Reese's arrival getting closer, we've been thinking back to the day that Reagan was born. She was breech, and her little tushie was wedged tightly into my pelvis, so she arrived via c-section. She came out screaming. I remember just smiling as I listened to her - thinking how healthy she sounded. Then, the doctors and nurses started laughing. "Don't they all come out screaming?" I asked. "Yeah, but not like that," one responded. A glimpse of what was to come. She didn't stop screaming for quite some time. My mom took this video as a nurse was giving her her first bath.

This sound was quite commonplace around our house the first few months. It's not a lot different now, only instead of screaming and crying, it's nonstop talking. As any of you know that have been around Reagan for long, she is a talker. She likes to narrate what she is doing, what you are doing, what she is thinking about, etc. It never stops, but I love it! I wouldn't have it any other way.

We're looking forward to seeing how different or similar Reese will be to her big sister.

Reese's Room

Sorry it took so long for me to take some pictures of the nursery. But, here they are. The walls are an orange sherbert color (Pluto from the Behr Disney collection)- you can never really tell that well in the pictures. The fabulous quilt Gammy (Jason's mother) made. Pictures don't do it justice. You have to see all the great details up close!
A pillow Nana made in the crib with hamper temporarily hanging behind it
Window valance (by Nana)
Another pillow (by Nana)
Organizer (by Nana)
Letters (by me & Aunt DeeDee)

It all turned out great! We love it! Thanks again Gammy, Nana, & DeeDee for your help in preparing Reese's room.

We're not quite done, but it's coming along nicely. We still have plans for a background piece for the letters so they don't blend into the wall so much. Then a few other wall hanging projects as well. I'll post those as we get them done.

American Idol 2025?

Reagan loves music. She has loved dancing for a while, and she has just started singing quite a bit as well.

Her favorite songs to sing include:

Anything from Hairspray

Wheels on the Bus*

Deep & Wide*

Itsy Bitsy Spider*

Rock-a-bye Baby (which she sings to her dolls)

Alphabet song

Jesus Loves Me (my personal favorite!)

*including the motions

Here is her singing 2 of the above songs.

In case you didn't notice, her version of the ABC song is neverending.

Nana's Visit

Nana (my mom) came for a visit this week. We had a really good time. Reagan loved having Nana here! She brought Reagan a few birthday presents (her favorite is pictured below), played with her, loved on her, and of course spoiled her rotten. That's what grandparents are for! She also took me for a pedicure when Reagan was at MDO, so I got spoiled a bit too.

We had a garage sale this weekend, and my mom was a huge help with that as well. She helped me organize and sticker all the stuff on Friday, then negotiate and sell it on Saturday. Thanks, Mom! We really appreciate your help!!

Mom made a bunch of stuff for Reese's nursery that she brought with her. She made the crib skirt, valances for the windows, 2 pillows, a hamper, and an organizer. They all look great! I'll get pics of the room on the blog soon. Jason's mother, aka Gammy, made the quilt for the nursery, and we got it in the mail this week too. It's incredible! My girls are so blessed to have such talented grandmothers!! Thank you! We love you both!

Reagan & Alex

Here's Reagan and Alex last Sunday on our back deck. They were enjoying the rocker on a nice afternoon. Then came the drama: Two days later, Alex and her mommy, Rebecca, were in a scary car accident. We're so glad you're okay. We love you guys! Reagan and Alex played in the car and in the McDonald's parking lot for a few hours while we waited on a wrecker. They always have such fun together. They thought it was an adventure!
Thank God for good friends - at any age!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Reagan!

Our baby turned 2 years old yesterday. I know all moms say this, but she is growing up so fast! The past two years have been wonderful. I thank the Lord for her everyday. Reagan really does fill our lives with so much joy and laughter. Her sweet spirit and inquisitive mind are so much fun.

We had Reagan's birthday party on Saturday, and she had a great time. She had been talking about it all week. She kept asking everyone, "Coming to Reagan's birthday party?" She loved her Abby Cadabby cake and decorations. And, she especially loved seeing all of her friends.

Here are some pictures from her birthday party. Others (RebeccaL & Iris) were much faster at getting them on their blogs than I was.

Smiling as everyone sang her Happy Birthday!

Devouring her cake - Yummy!!
