Family of 4 Tomorrow

Well, it looks like the time has arrived. Reese Abigail should be joining us tomorrow.

My appointment this morning went well. The doc says she has dropped and is really low. I'm still 75% effaced, and now dialated to 3cm. Dr. Owens thinks that everything looks favorable for a successful vbac. So, we head in tomorrow morning to get a little pitocin and be monitored closely.

Hopefully, we will have pictures of the newest member of the Ramsey clan to post soon.

Stay tuned . . . .

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Jason's 30th Birthday! Reagan has been very excited about it. She's been telling everyone all day that today is Daddy's birthday. She keeps singing him "Happy Birthday" - her version goes, "Happy Birthday to you, yeaaaa!!"
Jason, we love you very much! You are a wonderful husband and an amazing father! Yesterday, we had a Fall Festival at our church. It turned out great. Reagan loved playing all the games with her Daddy.

Reagan at Play

Here are some fun pics from the last month or so.
Yes, she is sitting on one potty with her other potty seat on her head. Kind of gross, I know, but we clean it.Feeding the goats at the fair. She really wanted to do it, but she kept pulling her hand back as the goat's tongue got closer."Hi, duckies!" It took a while to pry her from the ducks. She loves them.
Modeling her new hat from Aunt Kathy, Kaci, & Elizabeth.
Feeding Elijah his juice at Norah's birthday party. She is the little Mommy and likes to take care of everybody.Having a tea party with Carson.

Playing with Jacob.

We were in Motherhood/Maternity, and I was looking at nursing bras. Reagan said, "I found boobs!" I turned around and found this. What a mess!?!

Nursery Completed

Well, I think I've finally done all I plan to do for the nursery. I'm very pleased with how it all turned out. What do you think?

I did end up making a backdrop for the letters. They just blended into the orange walls too much without it. I think the green oval made them pop a little more.
Picture Wall -I did some picture frames similar to the letters with pics of the family.Changing table corner with hamper on the side My sweet sisters also made some precious gifts for Reese.

They made some burp cloths that coordinate with the nursery decor.
They appliqued some little onesies - that once again coordinate with the nursery. And, they painted a little canvas that will soon hang on her bedroom door. Now that we're ready, we're just waiting on Reese to come join us.

Reagan's Crazy Rash

On Tuesday, I got a call from Mother's Day Out that Reagan had awoken from her nap with a strange rash on her legs (1:50pm). She had a quarter-sized spot on each thigh just above her knees. It was raised and pink in the middle and red around the edges. By the time I made it up there to pick her up about 10 minutes later another spot had popped up on one of her lower legs. It didn't seem to bother her at all - she wasn't scratching or rubbing it. I called Jason and we decided to get her to the pediatrician ASAP. I called and they had a cancellation, so we headed straight there from MDO. When we got there (2:20pm), I checked the rash again, and it was growing pretty quickly. By the time we made it back into a room (3:00pm) it was covering her thighs from hip to mid knee and was starting to wrap around the thigh. The nurses were intriqued, they were calling more nurses in to look at it. They'd never seen anything like it. The doctor was the same. He said it didn't really fit into any of the normal rash categories - it was growing too fast, didn't itch or bother her at all, had strange borders, etc. He had another doc come in to check it out too, and she said the same thing. He ended up pulling out a dermatology book and looking through to find something that seemed to fit. He found one that came close, but it basically just said that they don't know what causes it and it can last up to 2 weeks. He said to come back if it got worse or started bothering her.

Jason went to med school with a guy who is a derm resident here, so he gave Tom a call. We took the pics below (about 5pm - it was covering one leg hip to ankle at this point) and emailed them to him for his opinion. Just describing it, no one quite grasps how large it really is. Tom called back and his first response was, "Whoa! I didn't think it was going to be that big." He said too, that it didn't follow any normal patterns for a rash, but that he would guess it to be an allergic reaction.

So, all in all, no one really knows what it was. It was just this crazy rash that didn't phase Reagan in the slightest but had us a little concerned. By the time we put her to bed that night, it had wrapped around her leg and grown together in the back but was fading significantly. However, another spot had popped up on her other lower leg. By Wednesday morning, her legs looked clear, but she had a large spot on one of her upper arms. That night, a new spot popped up on one of her feet, but all of the others were gone. Now, she's completely clear. Who knows??

Crazy, huh?
